Wha...........more bad news?

Saw on the OzReport that towing fees for Big Spring are now $350. Wow! That's gonna hurt. Don't understand the 9 days comment unless David is talking about the 2 practice days. I'll likely only do 2 tows and maybe a short out and return on Saturday.

Flying Sylmar today was a bunch of fun with low cloudbase (3800 - 4000). Sylmar launch is @ 3550 so we we're at cloudbase a lot. When we first arrived cloudbase lowered so we had to wait for the valley to heat up a bit before the clouds started to raise. It was a nice change from the 100+ degree weather we've been having.

My radio isn't transmitting so I have a little maintenance to do before Friday. Sunday will be busy and I hope all the little things will get done this week so everything will be OK while I'm off flying the big skies of Texas.

Audio Blogger Testing

Audio blogger has been having a few issues and I need to make sure it's all going well before we arrive in Texas. I want as much going right before we leave.

Mobile Blogging Enabled

Enabled blogging from the Treo 650 so I can post while we're on the road or waiting to get picked up. Either way it should speed up the updates during the meet.

I'm hoping that I'll have enough time to do all this and concentrate on flying too.

Field weeding out!

A few pilots have opted out of this years trek to Texas. Given the current fuel prices I hardly can blame them. Be that as it may, we are still a pretty strong group.

Possible ghost rider from Japan

Our driver situation has changed a bit too but we got a little more time for the comp and SwwetTea is leaving on the 1st of August. He's likely to be able to get things more solid. Right now we have 2 drivers for sure with a 3rd "possibility".

Once again I'll be doing some audio blogging and posting pictures as we get them. Doubt any video will make it onto the blog but will try to get some if we can. Our driver from last year (Ben Cross) will hopefully headup some of the stills photography and maybe we can get him to do some video as well.
